Pōhā, tītī storage

Pōhā airtight storage containers used for storing ngā tītī.

Pōhā are airtight storage containers made from rimurapa (bull kelp), harakeke and tōtara bark. The pōhā pictured are used for storing ngā tītī. Pōhā have other uses including transporting food and water and as flotation devices.
