CliC, Climate and Cryosphere is a core project of the World Climate Research Programme.
As part of the 
CliC Open Science Conference 2026, join this special session for students in years 11–13, where you can meet scientists who work to understand climate change in the world’s coldest places, and ask them about their career journeys

Hear from the panel:

  • Dr Natalie Robinson, Director of the Antarctic Science Platform, speaking about polar oceanography.

  • Julianne Burns, a PhD candidate at Victoria University's Antarctic Research Centre, speaking about the Antarctic paleoclimate.

  • Dr Sergi Gonzàlez Herrero, an Antarctic Meterology and Atmospheric Science researcher from the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research in Switzerland.

  • Alex Aves, a PhD candidate from the University of Canterbury, speaking about microplastics and pollution in Antarctica.

  • Dr Peter Siew, a research fellow at Victoria University' Antarctic Research Centre, speaking about climate modelling and sea level rise.
