Transcript

School student: How did you first get interested in science?

Sir Paul Nurse: I was interested in natural history, actually. I used to have a long walk to school. I used to look at the insects and flowers and birds and things like that, and when it was night time I used to look at the stars, and got very interested in the stars as well. So it was curiosity about the natural world, and that gradually developed into becoming a scientist. So I was just too interested in what was around me, I guess.
