What were the aims of the Harakeke Project – Stephen?

Stephen Tauwhare (Industrial Research Limited)

The Harakeke Project was put together to investigate potential new uses for harakeke. Also, a part of that was to work with Māori to discover or try and understand some of the traditional knowledge aspects of harakeke and harakeke knowledge throughout New Zealand and then use the scientific knowledge that we have developed over the last two or three years to try and supplement that pool of knowledge.
