The fast-thinking brain takes shortcuts

The fast-thinking system helps us to take shortcuts and process information quickly. This is very useful for dealing with the vast amounts of information we have to process each day. However, when we use our fast-thinking brain, we are prone to reject facts that don’t feel right to us or don't align with our existing ways of thinking and reasoning about an issue.
