Sampling the ocean

Scientists aboard research ship with ocean sampling instruments

The instruments measure pressure (indicating depth), temperature, salinity and fluorescence (indicating biological activity). Five bottles (long grey cylinders in the photo) collect water samples for CO2 analysis in the laboratory.
