Collecting native myrtle seed

Department of Conservation staff with pole pruner collects seed.

The Department of Conservation collects myrtle seeds for storage in the New Zealand  Indigenous Flora Seed Bank. Seed banking preserves the genetics of myrtle species, which are under threat from myrtle rust.
