American foulbrood testing

Paenibacillus larvae in a beehive.

Cells (the small closed spaces created from wax from bees) in a beehive that are suspected of being infected with American foulbrood disease can be assessed with a matchstick where the colour, consistency and thread-like behaviour of the contents are observed.
