Nest box monitoring

A kākā monitor checks an artificial nest box at Zealandia, NZ.

A kākā monitor checks an artificial nest box for eggs at Zealandia. The door on the side of the box gives the monitor easy access to check for eggs and chicks, but the kākā mother comes and goes from the round porthole.
