Ground compaction, Te Papa, Wellington

Ground compaction as part of Te Papa museum build.

Before the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa was built in the mid 1990s, weights were dropped to compact the ground. This reduces the risk of liquefaction in an earthquake.
