Lake Waikaremoana inland islands

Lake Waikaremoana inland islands recovery areas for kiwis.

The Lake Waikaremoana Hapū Restoration Trust established two inland islands by fencing off the Puketukutuku and Whareama Peninsulas. The fences keep kiwi chicks in and some pests out.
