1. In biology, the regular, seasonal movement of an animal population from one habitat to another and back again – often for the purpose of breeding, accessing food sources or for better conditions.

2. In chemistry, the movement of position of an atom or atoms within a molecule. Also, the movement of ions in an electrical field, as in electrolysis.
