phosphate minerals

Definition

Minerals (inorganic salts) of phosphate all contain the same structural tetrahedral unit (PO4). Examples are apatite (Ca5(F,Cl,OH)(PO4)3), triphylite (LiFePO4) and lithiophilite (LiMnPO4).
