Can you talk for 5–7 minutes about a scientist from Aotearoa New Zealand?
The Manawatū Branch of the Royal Society Te Apārangi is holding a Speech Prize for local high school students. Participants will prepare and deliver a short speech about a New Zealand researcher, past or present: their life and work and the impact of their work.
You can choose any New Zealand researcher who has worked to advance knowledge in any of the sciences and humanities.
Participants may elect to receive advice on their speech from local members of the Royal Society Te Apārangi. Prize contestants will make a public presentation of their speeches early in the 4th Term.
The Speech Prize is open to High School students in years 9–13 in the Manawatū region.
