Giselle Clarkson, the author of The Observologist, will be in Tawa for this very special event to explore the inner workings of the book and delights and wonders of the avian world.

Anyone can be an observologist
Giselle Clarkson is the author and illustrator of The Observologist: A Handbook for Mounting Very Small Scientific Expeditions.
Some birds are so commonplace it’s easy to forget how extraordinary they are. These creatures have a secret eyelid, hollow bones and a two-part brain. They dress in feathers. Omnibird, explores what’s remarkable about the birds all around us and the clues we can all use to become avian investigators.
Giselle is an author, illustrator and cartoonist based in Greytown, known for her work on conservation and environmental topics. She has illustrated award-winning picture books and nonfiction and is a 2023 Arts Foundation Laureate, receiving the prestigious Mallinson Rendel Illustrators Award.
This promises to be an unmissable event for bird and nature lovers of any age.
It is expected this event to be very popular so to secure your seat early arrival is suggested.
Location: Bats Theatre: Tawa Library, 158 Main Rd, Tawa, Wellington
