Region(s): Wellington
Type(s): presentations
Come along to Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne for an engaging and balanced kōrero about one of the more challenging conversations in pet ownership today: indoor cats.
Whether you own a roaming cat, have a catio setup, are thinking about your next feline friend, or are simply wildlife-conscious, this is a chance to hear from veterinarian Brendon Bullen of Kelburn Vets about the facts, the challenges, and the practical options available to current and future cat owners.

Keeping an eye on things
Cats are a conservation enigma. While cats prey on rats, which pose significant threats to native species, they are hunters themselves. Even well-fed cats hunt.
Although feral cats are known to have devastating impacts on native species, efforts to cull them often result in a public outcry.
Discover how to keep cats happy, healthy and enriched indoors, with practical tips, surprising cat trivia, and myth-busting insights.
This event will be held in the Pāteke Room in the Visitor Centre with light refreshments provided.
Location: ZEALANDIA Eco-Sanctuary, Waiapu Road, Karori, Wellington
