A career in ruins

09 March 2026 - 09 February 2026

Region(s): Wellington

Type(s): presentations

Following his popular talk Stonehenge: Old Rocks, New Theories at Te Papa in 2025, UK based Archaeologist and BBC broadcaster Julian Richards has returned to New Zealand’s shores.

Join Julian as he takes us through his ‘career in ruins’, sharing how youthful curiosity and an unremarkable school education resulted in his discovery of the joys of archaeology. Over the last 55 years Julian has explored the ancient past of his native England, bringing the past to life through his talks, books and television programmes. Still enthusiastically exploring and still obsessed with Stonehenge, Julian will share his passions for the past and the ups and downs of his ‘career in ruins’.
