This 2017 BioBlitz aims to help reinvigorate the Project Twin Streams work at Opanuku Stream. Project Twin Streams is a environmental restoration project which has been working with schools and the local community.
The core purpose of BioBlitz is to put communities in touch with their natural environment. BioBlitz is an exciting and intense biodiversity survey carried out over 24 hours within a defined natural site with the aim of recording as many of the living species as possible. It is an action based project which brings together scientists, naturalists, students and members of the public with diverse knowledge, expertise and interests in the natural environment.
The bioblitz will be led by the Auckland Museum and held at Corban Estate Art Centre, Henderson, Auckland from 24-25 March.
