This family day out gives visitors the chance to experience a variety of exciting projects currently being worked on by the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) community and meet the specialists expanding New Zealand’s boundaries in these fields.

Kiwis are often at the forefront of STEM advances and are continuously making solid contributions to the world with their subject knowledge. Come along and be inspired by the expertise and hands-on activities created by leading scientists and technologists from tertiary institutions and industries such as: Auckland, Canterbury and Massey Universities, the Institute of Environmental Science and Research, Mindkits and The Mind Lab by Unitec.

Auckland’s own Slime Princess, 11-year old Katharina Weischede, will be there demonstrating the science behind her hugely popular slime products.

The range of interactive exhibits includes robotics, virtual reality proteins, ultrasound research, forensic science, steganography and so much more. Get wrapped up with Maths origami, dig up a dinosaur, ride a hovercraft, meet virtual reality proteins, examine the micro-world through a Foldscope lens, and watch chemicals react explosively.
