Science Roadshow 2024 is Aotearoa New Zealand’s premiere hands-on science education programme.

Powerfully engaging, educative and fun live shows, with hands-on exhibits and teacher resources that broaden student knowledge and experience – connecting with science and technology and the world around them.

Refreshed 70 minute hands-on programme with new exhibits, shows and classroom ready resources.

Supports and augments the delivery of curricula especially the Nature of Science strand and the Five Foundational Science Capabilities through:

Two new exciting shows:

  • The hidden world – aspects of the world that cannot be seen without the aid of special equipment

  • Spectacular changes – a look at physical and chemical changes.

New exhibit themes to explore: The body (focus on digestion and food); Energy, Materials, Measurement, Spinning and whizzing, Telling the difference. (More than 60 exhibits in total!)

New complimentary resource book: this resource contains many useful activities, both pre- and post- visit, as well as a complete unit plan on Sustainable energy. 

Cost: $10 per student, accompanying teachers and adults free.

  • Term 3: Eastern Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Wairoa, Hawkes Bay Manawatu, Wellington, Wairarapa, Malborough, Canterbury

  • Term 4: Otago, Central Otago, Southland, Nelson, Kapiti Coast, Taranaki
