Perfect for anyone interested in the night sky, this two-hour live session under the immersive planetarium dome will guide you through the basics of stargazing:

  • why the stars and planets move the way they do
  • how to find South and other useful markers with the naked eye;
  • an introduction to the Matariki star cluster and what it means to Aotearoa.

Stars

We can see but not hear stars in faraway galaxies. This is because light can travel through a vacuum but sound cannot (sound needs a medium).

Showcasing their upgraded planetarium system, sit back and enjoy being taken on a detailed tour of the night sky with their brand-new, high-definition laser projectors.
