Teach About Innovation – new resource
Innovation is a collection of resources to support young people in developing the ability to recognise how innovation happens and understand the value it can bring.
Teach About Innovation has a number of activities to help clarify and build student’s understanding of innovation:
- In Unpacking innovation, students use video clips of innovators and their products to identify key aspects of what is involved in innovation.
- The marshmallow challenge is a hands-on challenge to build a structure that will support the weight of a marshmallow. It highlights key aspects of innovation – idea generation, collaboration, creativity and teamwork.
Suitable for a range of ages
The Innovation stories on the Hub feature a number of different products to appeal to a range of ages and interests.
Most students are familiar with bicycles so they’ll have some background knowledge to see why the YikeBike is such a radical redesign.
Revolution Fibres features the high-tech world of electrospun nanofibres. Nanofibres sound pretty out there – but you just might have some in your house.
Check out Innovation to see what else is on offer.
